Fish Care!

Naden Lodge also strives to give our clients the best take home fish product of any fishing lodge on the Pacific coast. Our guests all agree our process is the BEST. Salmon is delicate meat and needs special attention to prevent belly burn and deterioration. Fish that are retained, will be bled immediately onboard and put into coolers filled with ice, to prevent any such deterioration. Fish handled this way will stay fresh all day, so no worries! If you catch that trophy at the start of the day or the end, the freshness will be there. After the trip back to the Lodge, the fish are expertly cleaned and soaked to remove most of the blood, which if not done will leave a sea weedy smell when cooked. The fish are then cut or filleted to your specifications. We then vacuum pack what you are taking home in our commercial vac-pak machine to preserve the freshness and flavor of your salmon and bottom fish. Vacuum packing is included in your package price.

The catch is then flash frozen in our walk in blast freezer or put on ice for fresh dinners with your family when you get home. Fish are transported home in waxed corrugated boxes, insulated and sealed for protection. We also work with a local processor that can smoke your fish or cut it into meal sized portions, what ever you desire. Or for a culinary delight we can ship your fish to the cannery for some smoked and canned fish or just plain canned fish. Shipping and out of Lodge processing is an extra charge.

For those trophy hunters, we recommend B.C.'s best master of the craft, Mr. Eric Gander of Surrey B.C, should do any taxidermy services needed. His reasonable rates, service next to none and old world craftsmanship will ensure that your trophy will be the best. Eric and sons totally guarantee their work. A trophy doesn't have to be the biggest you have caught, maybe a pretty fish or a fish of different species to fill out that trophy wall at home. Shipping and taxidermy services are an extra charge.
